Use pencycuron:Pre-Planting treatment of potato seedlings with seed treatment pesticide

“Prestige” is a pre-planting seed treatment preparation from BAYER for protection of potatoes and vegetables from pests and diseases. However, they can be used only for potatoes harvested in August (late or medium maturing varieties). Only by such long period of time the toxic chemical used is neutralized prior to harvest.
About 60 days are needed for the complete elimination of chemicals (pesticides) from the seedlings. So it is not advisable to treat early maturing varieties with these pre-planting pesticides. If you are planning to sow the potatoes in the second half of April and you are going to use “Prestige” (BAYER-Imidacloprid,Pencycuron), choose the medium-early and medium-late maturing potato varieties. In areas where early maturing potato varieties are grown for consumption early in June and July, it is not advisable to apply “Prestige” for treatment of tubers before planting. Great harm to potato farming is caused by soil-borne pests- wireworms, false wireworms or mealworms (the larvae of beetles of family Tenebrionidae), gnawing moth larvae (Noctuidae), larvae or maggots of May beetle and European mole cricket/Fen cricket (Gryllotalpa), as well as a variety of fungal and bacterial rot infections, affecting the tubers in the soil. To protect the potatoes, we should use insecticidal and fungicidal chemical preparations for treatment of tubers before planting. Prestige ® (by BAYER- containing Imidacloprid and /or Pencycuron- other brand names worldwide are Gaucho ®, Monceron ®, Raxil ® etc) effectively protects the potatoes from soil-borne pests, Rhizoctonia and Colorado potato beetle etc. Liquid Formulation (Concentrate suspension) gives highly technological approach towards treatment, reduces laboriousness of potato farming: a single operation of treatment with the pesticide is equal to two treatments (from pests and diseases). Thus it saves lots of extra work. The drug has anti-stress effect, which gives increased resistance of potato to biotic and abiotic influences of environment and consequently increasing the germination capacity, improvement of shoot formation and increase in vegetative mass, increased photosynthetic processes and improvement in product quality.
