Ishihara Sangyo to launch its pesticides in India in November

 Ishihara sangyo Kaisha is set to launch its pesticides in India in November in partnership with a local pesticide maker and planning to start full-fledged sales in Thailand in March 2012.
 With demand predicted to climb in Southeast Asia and West Asia, whose populations and economies are growing rapidly, the company has a goal to double its annual sales of pesticides in Asia excluding Japan to 6 bn yen ($78 mn) by fiscal 2015. To this end, it is allying with local company United Phosphorus to market its pesticides in India, with its flonicamid insecticide considered as the best fit for the country’s increasing cultivation of cotton, rice, potatoes and corn.
 The Thailand, where some of its pesticides are being marketed, it is planning a tie-up with a local supplier for full-fledged sales to capture an expected rise in pesticide demand there along with expanded rice production. It will also accelerate market cultivation in Vietnam and Oceania in partnership with local suppliers.
 Ishihara Sangyo is aiming to boost its annual pesticide sales, including those of its group companies, to 70 bn yen by fiscal 2015, from 42.5 bn yen forecast for this fiscal year, consisting of 13.3 bn yen in Japan, 8.5 bn yen in the US, 17.5 bn yen in Europe and 3.2 bn yen in Asia excluding Japan.
